CAR FIRE, CRASH SNARL KENSINGTON TRAFFIC

A car fire and a crash tied up traffic on the Kensington Expressway Sunday night, according to Buffalo authorities.

Firefighters extinguished a car fire in the westbound lane of the Kensington near Best Street at 9:11 p.m., according to Fire Dispatcher Marvin Jones. One man was transported to Erie County Medical Center, but his name and condition were not available immediately.

Cause of the fire, which did $1,500 in damage, is under investigation.

In a separate incident, a car struck another vehicle at 9:40 p.m. Sunday in the vicinity of the first, officials said. One person was taken to the hospital, but her condition was unavailable. The accident tied up traffic on the expressway for about half an hour, Jones said.
