Several winter activities are planned, starting this weekend, for visitors to Allegany State Park.
The Old Quaker Store Museum will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a slide program on Civilian Conservation Corps camps in the park at 7 p.m. Saturday.
A park naturalist will discuss animals in winter at 3 p.m. Jan. 10 at the museum in the Red House Administration Building.
Decorating a tree for wildlife will include a workshop to prepare the decorations at 1 p.m. Saturday in the lower lobby of the Red House Administration Building. At 3 p.m. Saturday and again Jan. 24, interested visitors can meet at the intersection of Route 2 and France Brook Road to search for animal tracks and perhaps meet the animals that made them.
Other nature walks and special events are planned. Schedules are available at cabin rental desks and the ski warm-up hut.
