Sarah W. Magavern, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard J. Magavern Jr. of Eden, and Dr. Julian L. Ambrus Jr., son of Dr. Julian L. and Dr. Clara B. Ambrus of Buffalo, exchanged nuptial vows Saturday at 5 p.m. in Larkin House, where a reception was given.
Performing the marriage ceremony were the Rev. Clara Gillies, chairwoman of the AIDS Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York, and the Rev. Richard H. Augustyn, director of pastoral care and education, Buffalo General Health System.
An alumna of the Buffalo Seminary, the bride is a graduate of University of Rochester and has a master of business administration degree from its Simon School of Business. She is vice president for planning for the new CGF Health System and previously served in the same capacity for Buffalo General Health System.
She is vice chairwoman of the Buffalo Seminary board of trustees.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Nichols School, Yale University and Jefferson Medical College. He is a physician with Buffalo General Health System and is associate professor of medicine at University at Buffalo School of Medicine, specializing in immunology and rheumatology.
He serves on the board of the Western New York Arthritis Foundation.
After a trip to Phoenix, Ariz., the newly married couple will be at home in Buffalo.
