Eta M. Zacher, a former seamstress, died Saturday (Dec. 27, 1997) in St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. She was 84.
Ms. Zacher previously lived in the Town of Niagara but more recently was a resident of St. Mary's Manor, Lewiston.
Born in Niagara Falls, she attended local schools and worked as a seamstress at the Sample, Wellsley Shoppe and many other local stores, retiring in 1985.
She was former first president and active member of the Beech Avenue School PTA and was instrumental in covering the open ditch of the power project and was active with the Mothers March of Dimes many years ago.
Ms. Zacher enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and crocheting.
Her husband, Fred J. Zacher, died in 1971.
She is survived by three sons, Fred of Cleveland, Tenn., and John and James; two daughters, Joanne Wagner and Anna Mitravich; one sister, Josephine Papucci; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday in Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 in St. Joseph's Church, Pine Avenue and Tronolone Place. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
