COLLISION PINS PASSENGER IN CAR

Two persons were injured, and one of them had to be extricated from a car, after two vehicles collided at West Avenue and Hawley Street at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Assistant Fire Chief Michael Seeloff said.

Seeloff said Cassandra Davis, 21, of Sweet-wood Drive was pinned in one of the cars for 15 minutes because of a broadside impact to the passenger side door, which was struck by a car driven by Steven Asarese, 19, of Campbell Boulevard, Pendleton.

A Lockport Memorial Hospital official said Asarese and Ms. Davis were being treated for minor injuries Saturday night. Seeloff blamed icy conditions for the accident. The name of the driver of the car in which Ms. Davis was riding was not available.
