Dorothy M. Robertson, 87, formerly of East Avenue, a longtime church organist who also gave private piano lessons in her home for many years, died Thursday (Dec. 25, 1997) in the Newfane Health Facility.
The former Dorothy Dick had lived in Newfane since 1923.
She had worked as a secretary for the former Lockport Felt Co. in the 1930s and had been a swimming and water safety instructor for the Lockport Red Cross in the 1950s and '60s.
Mrs. Robertson was a member and church organist for the Wrights Corners Presbyterian Church and had also been a member and former matron of the Newfane Order of the Eastern Star 743.
Her husband of 62 years, Charles, died in 1995.
She is survived by two sons, James C. and Richard J.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery, Lockport.
