Charles R. White, a retired plant electrician, died Thursday (Dec. 25, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after a short illness.
White, 75, of Tuscarora Road, was born in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces with the 324th Army Air Force Base Unit in Rome, N.Y., from 1942 to 1945 and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.
White had been employed as an electrician at E.I. du Pont de Nemours in Niagara Falls from 1948 to 1963 and then at the former Harrison Radiator Plant in Lockport from 1963 until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Niagara Falls and had been a member of the LaSalle Sportsman's Club in the Town of Niagara for more than 40 years. He also enjoyed bowling and golf.
White is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Martha Reed; a son, Jack of Grand Island; four daughters, Kathleen Kelly of Grand Island, Ann Pendolino of the Town of Tonawanda, Tina O'Brien of North Tonawanda and Elaine Lambka of Delaware, Ohio; a brother, John of Lockport; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church, College and Macklem avenues, Niagara Falls, after services at 9:15 in Otto Redanz Funeral Home LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
