Private services will be held for Edwin Walker, a retired Agway foreman, who died Monday (Dec. 22, 1997) in Fiddlers Green Nursing Home, Springville. Burial will be in Eden Evergreen Cemetery.
Walker, 90, moved to Buffalo from Bethluch, Switzerland, in 1923 and worked as a carpenter.
In Buffalo, he married Ida Wingeier, who had grown up in the neighboring Swiss town of Saladurn and moved to Buffalo.
They settled in Eden, and Walker worked as a foreman for 42 years at the Grange League Federation in Buffalo, a company known today as Agway. He retired in 1972.
Walker was a member of the Swiss Society of Buffalo and enjoyed hunting and bowling.
Mrs. Walker died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Edwin of Eden; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
