MAN CHARGED AFTER BOY IS GRAZED BY BULLET

A Cunard Road man was arrested early today after a shotgun blast was fired into a Beverly Road home where a sleeping 3-year-old boy was grazed on his left knee, according to police.

Joseph Farruggia, 21, is accused of firing the gun into Stephanie Miller's residence several times at about 4:50 a.m., in apparent revenge against her brother, who is involved with a woman Farruggia had dated, authorities said.

Ms. Miller's brother, however, does not reside at the home on the 100 block of Beverly, police said. The child, Ms. Miller's son, was treated at the scene by Rural Metro Ambulance attendants.

Farruggia, who was arrested at 5:10 a.m. on the 600 block of Parkside Avenue, was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest, according to Lt. Gregg G. Blosat.
