Thomas Huisgen of Lewiston has been elected president of the board of directors of the Lewiston-Porter Community Ambassadors Program, which selects one local high school student a year to send abroad for a visit.
The 1998 ambassador, to be announced Feb. 18, will visit Ireland, Thailand, Ghana or New Zealand. The 1997 ambassador, Briana Reiter of Lewiston, spent four weeks in Belize. Groups wishing to see her slide show about the trip are asked to call 754-2762.
Huisgen succeeds Kate Myers of Youngstown as president. Other 1998 officers are vice president, Kathy Goller; secretary, Sue Mackey; and treasurer, Sue Collyer. Linda McClure was elected to a seat on the board.
