Silver Charm, which hasn't run since finishing second to Touch Gold in the Belmont Stakes on June 7, drew the No. 7 post position in a field of 11 for Friday's $200,000 Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita. Silver Charm was assigned a co-high weight of 123 pounds with Crypto Star.

Mark Hamister, who also owns Buffalo Sports Enterprises, Inc., has divested his share in the Buffalo Warriors semi-pro football team, and head coach Dennis Bellanca is taking over operations of the International Football League team. The sale of the Warriors allows Hamister the opportunity to concentrate on bringing an Arena Football team to Buffalo in the spring of 1999.
