ROBERT SCOTT

Robert Scott, 73, an Army veteran of World War II, died Sunday (Dec. 21, 1997) in his home on Cayuga Drive.

A native of South River, N.J., Scott moved to Niagara Falls 68 years ago. He served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was an instrument and valve mechanic for E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. until he retired in 1983 after 38 years of service.

Scott was an avid car enthusiast who restored many antique cars and participated in car shows. He also enjoyed boating, shopping at flea markets and reading. He donated more than 25 gallons of blood during his lifetime.

He was a longtime close friend and companion of Phyllis Galley.

Survivors include two sons, Michael of Belgrade, Maine, and Paul "Jeff"; a daughter, Melissa Hoft of Sugarland, Texas; one brother, George Faukner of El Paso, Texas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Private burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.[bldwn]
