Frederick W. Ludemann, 82, of High Street, a custodian and mechanic, died Sunday (Dec. 21, 1997) in Lockport Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Lockport and was a mechanic for several years at the former Knapp Motors. He retired in 1978 after working for 23 years as head custodian at Roy B. Kelley Elementary School.
Ludemann served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a cannoneer in Battery B, 29th Field Artillery Battalion, taking part in campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe.
He was a member of the Lockport Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth M. Peterson; two sons, Frederick Jr. of Buffalo and Bruce; two sisters, Florence Greene of Michigan and Dorothy Frehsee; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park.
