Cattaraugus County employees in the general bargaining unit have voted to accept a one-year contract with a 3 percent pay hike.

The pact with the Civil Service Employees Association also offers a county self-insurance health program to replace the existing Blue Cross-Blue Shield and Tradition health plans.

The unit has about 600 members. They voted 378 to 76 in favor of the proposal. Legislators are expected to vote on the plan at their next meeting Jan. 7.

Under the proposal employees will continue to contribute $10 per pay period toward health insurance. A third party will be hired to administer the health insurance program.
