Stella J. Maurer, 79, of 10th Street died Saturday (Dec. 20, 1997) in St. Mary's Manor after a brief illness.
The former Stella Buchalski was born in Niagara Falls and, during World War II, worked for Kimberly-Clark Corp. After the war, she became a homemaker.
Mrs. Maurer's husband, Elmer W., died in 1990.
Mrs. Maurer was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church and its Holy Rosary and Quo Vadis societies. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Portage Post 1465, American Legion.
Survivors include four sons, John C. of Lewiston, Walter S., James B. and Robert W.; two daughters, Janet M. Kramer of Forest Hills and Patricia A.; seven brothers, John Buchalski of Tacoma, Wash., Walter Buchalski of North Tonawanda, Matthew Buchalski, Leo Buchalski, Henry Buchalski, Chester Buchalski and Teddy Buchalski; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 2437 Niagara St., after prayers at 11 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
