WBC heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has signed a contract to meet Evander Holyfield in a $50 million unification fight in Las Vegas on April 25.
Now it's up to Holyfield, the WBA and IBF champion, as well as promoter Don King and HBO to sign the deal, said Panos Eliades, who promotes Lewis' fights.
"We've agreed to terms and we've entered into a contract," Eliades said. "Now Don King has to agree with Holyfield to accept the balance available. Hopefully by the end of the week we should know.
"King has to go to HBO and agree terms with them. Then he has to go to Holyfield. I think he will come back very quickly either to say it can be done or it can't. It's not in his interests to hang around."
Eliades said the terms he was negotiating were $30 million for Holyfield and $20 million for Lewis. Eliades said the amount of the purse depends on the size of the audience. If this fight goes forward, it must be shown on HBO.
