Social-welfare examiner Dave Florek has an enviable job.
Affording him not only a livelihood, it provides him with a lavish psychic income -- a daily opportunity to feel highly superior to a large group of people. Professing no disrespect, he goes on to describe welfare clients ("Surroundings," Dec. 15) as spiritually bankrupt and conniving to outsmart the system for ill-gotten aid.
He should thank his lucky stars. Someday he might be sitting on the other side of the desk.
