BUFFALO MAN ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTING SPREE

A Buffalo man was arrested early Sunday after what store officials said was his third shoplifting incident in five days at Tops Market on South Transit Road, Sheriff's Deputy Scott V. Barnes said.

David W. Kellogg, 31, of 244 Memorial St. was charged with three counts of petit larceny and held in the Niagara County Jail on $500 bail. A man Barnes described as Kellogg's "accomplice," Lawrence J. Kwaczala, 39, of 86 Shanley St., Cheektowaga, was arrested trying to drive away at 2:05 a.m. He was charged with one count of petit larceny and jailed on $100 bail.

Barnes said store employees recognized Kellogg as the man who had filled a bag with groceries and fled the store without paying on Wednesday and Saturday.
