Harold C. George, 67, of 14th Street, a member of Niagara Community Church, died Friday (Dec. 19, 1997) in Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Ontario and lived in Canada until he moved to Niagara County in 1981.
George worked as a farmhand for several years, pruning and harvesting the crops for many Niagara County farmers.
Survivors include his wife, the former Susie E. Jones; a son, David of Ontario; a daughter, Berniece Kahgee of Fort Erie, Ont.; seven stepsons, Benjamin Jones, Daniel Jones, Abraham Jones, Noah Jones, Tom Jones, Kenneth Wolf and Ronald Wolf, all of Western New York; four stepdaughters, Scarlet Noyes, Martha Butcher, and Barbara Burgess, all of Western New York, and Tina Banks of Texas; eight grandchildren; 34 stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Rhoney Funeral Home, 1124 Ontario Ave., and at 11 in Niagara Community Church, 10500 Cayuga Drive. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
