2 MEN CHARGED IN ALLEGED BEATING

Two men who allegedly stabbed and beat a Thompson Street man Friday night in the 2200 block of Niagara Street have been caught by Northwest District officers.

Richard R. Cotton, 20, of Guernsey Street is charged with assault, and Joseph A. Lemp, 21, of Jersey Street, is charged with harassment in the attack on Francis J. Newman.

Newman told police that Cotton stabbed him in the chest and Lemp punched him in the face during an argument, according to arresting Officers John Petricca and Dennis Alessi. The victim was treated at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
