The holiday perennial "Miracle on 34th Street," starring Edmund Gwenn and Natalie Wood, will be shown at 7:30 this evening in Shea's Performing Arts Center. Tickets are free but must be obtained from the Shea's box office or from Media Play stores or the offices of the Lockport, McKinley and Walden Galleria malls.

Next week sees what may be a record number of movie openings. Scheduled to open are: the comedy "As Good as It Gets," starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt; Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown," starring Pam Grier, Robert DeNiro and Samuel L. Jackson; Gus Van Sant's "Good Will Hunting," starring Matt Damon; Kevin Costner's "The Postman"; Atom Egoyan's much-acclaimed "The Sweet Hereafter"; "An American Werewolf in Paris"; "Washington Square," starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the live-action version of "Mr. Magoo," starring Leslie Nielsen.
