Australian Lucas Parsons regained his composure after a bird swooped at him on the first tee and went on to protect his lead in the Coolum Classic. Parsons fired a 3-under-par 69 and finished 36 holes with a 137.
Craig Parry, another Australian, was one-stroke back after a 68.
Parson's round got off to a scary start when bird dove at him on his backswing on the first tee. The drive flew left into some palm trees, but Parsons recovered to par the hole.
He just missed a birdie putt, but the bird dominated his conversation.
"It flew straight at me about 5 feet from my face," Parsons said. "I'd pushed the button on the shot. If I'd tried to pull out, I'd have fallen over."
