The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is one of Buffalo's delightful cultural centers. Doc Severinsen kindly conducts many events throughout the course of the year. The Buffalo audience attends his concerts with enthusiasm.
We had the honor of enjoying one of his enchanting concerts on a recent Friday evening. Upon returning to our vehicle, parked only two blocks away from Kleinhans, we found that our 1997 Ford Explorer had been broken into, ransacked and items stolen. Since we had locked the car, it was necessary for a window to be broken to gain entry. No real harm was done since everything can be replaced or repaired. What is disturbing is that we were parked only two blocks away from Kleinhans Music Hall.
How will Buffalo keep the few excellent cultural centers it has if the eager attendees feel that either property or person will be at risk when venturing to the centers? It would seem imperative that the safety of patrons be maintained in order to encourage attendance.
