Another fund-raising effort is under way to help "Hunter's Hope," the Krabbe's disease foundation named for the fatally ill son of ex-Buffalo Bill Jim Kelly and his wife Jill.
"A Song for Hunter," written by BCMK recording studios chief Tommy Calandra, begins:
"We love you so much Hunter/You're our little baby boy/the day that you were born/God gave us so much joy. To see you this way/just breaks our hearts/We say a little prayer/when the hurting starts. . . ."
So far, Calandra has only cassette copies he wants local radio stations to play. But he's hoping a local sponsor will pay to turn the song into a CD single.
"We could do this just like the Di thing," says Calandra, referring to Elton John's multi-million selling single "Candle in the Wind" for Princess Diana. "People could donate whatever they want, for copy." Interested sponsors can contact him at 877-2265.
