57 TICKETED IN ELMA SPEED TRAP

Erie County Sheriff's deputies handed out 57 speeding tickets Friday on Route 400 in Elma, after setting up a special radar speed enforcement detail as part of National Lifesavers Weekend, an effort to reduce highway accidents during the holiday season.

Besides the summons for speeding, deputies and a sergeant stopped five motorists for seat belt violations, and 20 other motorist for a variety vehicle related infractions. Four of the drivers stopped were found to be driving with licenses that were suspended or revoked.
