SAMPRAS TURNS TABLES ON RIVAL KORDA

Pete Sampras, the world's top-ranked player, got revenge against Petr Korda, beating him, 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, and advancing to the quarterfinals at the Paris Open.

Korda had beaten Sampras at the U.S. Open in five sets.

In the third set, Sampras converted a break point after missing his first 11 chances.

Sampras gained the advantage in the seventh game of the third set to go up, 4-3. After that, Sampras held to make it 5-3 and saved two break points in the final game.
