Joseph P. McGuire, 48, of Coronado, Calif., a former resident of North Java, died last Friday (Oct. 24, 1997) in Kaiser Permanente Hospital, San Diego, after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, he was a 1967 graduate of Attica High School and attended Genesee Community College before joining the Navy in 1968. An airman electrician, he served in the Vietnam War. After his discharge in 1972, he began his own business as an electrical contractor in San Diego.
Surviving are three sons, Joey and Michael, both of Coronado, and Nicholas of Michigan; two daughters, Juliet and Michelle, both of Death Valley, Calif.; six brothers, John of Blasdell, Paul and Michael, both of East Aurora, Gerard of Coronado, Patrick of Orchard Park and Tom; four sisters, Mary Ann Dorkey of Penfield, Margaret Bliemeister of Lancaster, Christine Sherman of Buffalo and Angela Judge of Kenmore; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, North Java.
