4 HURT IN PRISON FIGHT INVOLVING 40

Two inmates are in the hospital and two others were treated for wounds after a fight at Clinton Correctional Facility involving 40 inmates.

More than 220 prisoners were in the yard when a fight broke out Wednesday night, said Mike Houston, a spokesman for the Department of Correctional Services.

A prison guard broke up the fight by firing a warning shot from his AR-15 rifle.

After clearing out the yard, guards recovered 13 homemade weapons. Two inmates suffered puncture wounds and were admitted to a Plattsburgh hospital, and two other inmates were treated at the prison.
