Ida M. Daunce, 75, of Dorwood Park died Tuesday (Oct. 28, 1997) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a brief illness.
The former Ida Chaffee was born in Niagara Falls. She moved to Ransomville in 1959, to Lockport in 1978, and back to Ransomville in 1986.
She worked as a school bus driver for Ransomville Bus Lines for more than 30 years, retiring in 1994.
For 20 years, she worked at the former Ransomville General Hospital, later Ransomville Senior Meadows, both in patient care and as a housekeeper.
Mrs. Daunce was an avid bowler and enjoyed sewing and crafts. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Niagara Falls.
Her husband, Thomas H. Daunce, died in 1952.
Surviving are a son, Thomas of Lockport; two daughters, Phyllis Hayes of Fillmore and Carole Bohnstadt; a sister, Ruby Hooks of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hardison Funeral Home, 3648 Ransomville Road. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
