The Batavia Town Board will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on a proposed 1998 budget of $2,738,385.

The amount to be raised by taxes is $369,320, slightly below the current year.

The budget retains the town's zero real property tax rate. But residents pay Genesee County taxes and for town fire ambulance service. Those in water and sewer districts also pay annual fees. The board will vote on the budget at its regular meeting Nov. 19.
