Citizens against the city's user fee for garbage collection will attempt to keep the issue at the top of the agenda in local elections by holding a rally one day before Election Day on the steps of City Hall.
The rally is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Rosa Gibson, a spokeswoman for Citizens Against the Trash Tax said speakers at the rally will ask questions about the city's efforts to collect the fee. The group contends that collections of the fee are $4 million dollars short and that only 68 percent of local residents are paying. The group also wants to know what the city is doing to collect the fee.
Representatives of other groups from towns in Erie County will join the rally, Mrs. Gibson said.
