A school bus was stolen, then destroyed, and others were vandalized in a Port Colborne bus lot, Niagara Regional Police said Tuesday.
The discovery was made late Monday, following a citizen's report of suspicious persons inside a bus at the Laidlaw school bus fleet yard on Ramey Road, police said.
Officers found three school buses in the compound had been damaged. The damage included broken windows, ripped seats and heavy damage to an ignition column. Damages were estimated at $10,000.
Police said there is no evidence linking the vandalism to the ongoing strike by Ontario's teachers unions.
