Palma Grana, 88, who operated a food market here for 30 years with her husband, died Tuesday (Oct. 28, 1997) in Riverside Health Care Center, Grand Island, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Grana, a Niagara Falls native, attended local schools.
The former Palma Archie lived most of her life in the city before moving to Lewiston several years ago. She had been a resident of the nursing home for about two months.
With her husband, John J., she operated Grana's Market, first on East Falls Street, later on Niagara Street. It closed in the mid-1960s. Her husband died in 1974.
She attended Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Anthony T. of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 1120 Niagara St., after prayers at 9 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
