Archie M. Van Atta Jr., a retired Chevrolet plant superintendent, died Oct. 19, 1997, in Bradenton, Fla. He was 84.
A former Williamsville resident, Van Atta retired in 1978 from General Motors Corp. as a material superintendent at the Chevrolet forge plant in the Town of Tonawanda.
He was a member of DeMolay 498 Lodge, F&AM, of Buffalo and Transit Valley Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Schlenker; a son, Richard G. of Orange City, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday in Bradenton.
