SENTENCING SET IN THEFT CASE

Sentencing has been set for Dec. 15 in Cattaraugus County Court for a Salamanca man who stole $1,300 from two veterans' organizations.

Nick Hutchison, 48, of Summit Street pleaded guilty to petit larceny before Judge Larry M. Himelein Monday. He admitted that between February and April he stole the money by forging another man's name on bank withdrawal slips.

The money was stolen from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Sean P. Moore, 29, of Olean pleaded innocent to 39 counts of second-degree forgery, 39 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and third-degree grand larceny for forging checks totaling more than $3,000 in various areas of the county.
