The city has received more money from the state to help curb its ongoing tax base erosion.

Sen. Jess J. Present, R-Bemus Point, secured $75,000, which is a reduction from last year's amount.

The city began receiving $150,000 a year in the 1993-94 budget and has received $150,000 a year from the state the last three years.

Mayor Rosie Hoag and her administration has targeted erosion of the tax base due to Native American land exemptions as a priority problem.

Earlier this week the mayor said a permanent solution to the erosion problem is being discussed with state and federal officials.
