LOSS PUT AT $150,000 IN FIRE AT VACANT SCHOOL

A fire early Monday at a former school in South Buffalo caused an estimated $150,000 damage to the vacant building, a fire investigator said.

But the cause of the three-alarm blaze at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church's former elementary school remains unknown. The 3 a.m. fire in the boarded-up structure at Vandalia and Alabama streets forced the evacuation of two nearby homes.

No injuries were reported.
