Gloria B. Barrett, 79, formerly of Niagara Falls, who worked for many years in the food industry, died Saturday (Oct. 25, 1997) in her Clearwater, Fla., home after a long illness.
Born in Niagara Falls, she moved to Clearwater in 1980.
While in Niagara Falls, she worked as a cook for the public school system from 1950 through 1955.
She then owned and operated Rex's Luncheonette on Main Street from 1956 through 1960 and was employed as a banquet master for Harry S. Stevens Corp. from 1956 until her retirement in 1978.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Largo, Fla.
Her interests included horseback riding, jogging, swimming and golf.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, George E. of Clearwater; a son, John of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Margaret Barrett-Walos of Lewiston; two sisters, Jeanne Barrett and Rose Hyla, both of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Largo.
