The proposal to hold a state constitutional convention will be the subject of an educational forum from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Buffalo State College's Rockwell Hall Auditorium. The proposal will appear on next Tuesday's ballot.
The forum, sponsored by the Assembly's Republican Constitutional Convention Study Group, will feature comments from community leaders and activists on whether to revise the state constitution. The convention, if approved, would convene in April 1999.
Speakers will include Robert Schulz, president of the All County Taxpayers Association; Peter Galie, professor of political science at Canisius College; Andrew J. Rudnick, president of the Greater Buffalo Partnership; Lenore Banks, first vice president of the League of Women Voters of New York State; and Florence Tripi, first regional vice president of the Civil Service Employees Association.
