The Martha H. Beeman Foundation has announced the awarding of 24 grants to Niagara County non-profit groups that provide programs for children or youth.
The grants total $131,745. The 24 recipients were selected from among 43 applicants, said Diana Palumbo, a foundation board member and co-chairwoman, with E. Marie Davis of its grants committee.
The goal of the foundation, begun by a private bequest, is to support programs for at-risk young people. Applications for its 1998 grants will be available in the spring.
