WHAT GRANDPARENTS SHOULD KNOW

Suggestions to grandparents:

Never ask why parents are doing things one way or another. It implies that they're making a mistake.

Never comment when children are being reprimanded by their parents.

Never say they can do something at your house when parents say they shouldn't be doing it.

Never make parents feel guilty.

Don't compare with the way you did things.

From the book "Totally Cool Grandparenting" by Leslie Linsley, St. Martin's Press, $11.95.

For free information on being a grandparent, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope (two stamps) to the Foundation for Grandparenting, 5 Casa Del Oro Lane, Santa Fe, N.M. 87505.
