SISTER ROSELLA WELCH, TAUGHT IN AREA SCHOOLS

Sister Rosella Welch, who taught in the Buffalo area, died Wednesday (Oct. 22, 1997) in the Motherhouse of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart in Yardley, Pa.

Sister Welch taught at St. Rose of Lima School from 1943 to 1945 and returned to the area to teach at St. James School in Depew from 1955 to 1962.

A native of Lowell, Mass., she entered the Grey Nuns in 1930. In 1948, she earned a degree in education from D'Youville College.

She is survived by a sister, Grace of Lowell.

She was buried Saturday in Yardley.
