A masked gunman made off with $150 at 1:30 a.m. Saturday when he robbed the guard shack at the Carbon Graphite Group, 4861 Packard Road, police said.

Arthur Kunz and Gary Moore said they were on guard duty at the plant when a man approached waving a black handgun at them, took some envelopes from a box in the guard shack containing $150 in $1 bills and fled the area, police said.

The security guards said the robber went right for the box with the money in it, prompting them to believe he knew the money was there. The envelopes were there to provide plant workers with lunch money, police said.

The robber was described as a slim black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a black ski mask, a waist-length brown leather jacket and blue jeans, police said.
