Norman A. Baglini, the chairman and chief executive of the Insurance Institute of America, will deliver the keynote speech at a meeting of property-casualty insurance underwriters on Nov. 11 at the University Inn & Conference Center in Amherst.
The event is the Buffalo Chapter of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society's annual "Industry Day and Seminar."
The program includes an 8 a.m. seminar on commercial inland marine insurance by the Canisius College Center for Professional Development.
Baglini's speech will be the luncheon event. He will also lead a ceremony honoring the Buffalo chapter's 11 new designees. Baglini also serves as the top officer of the American Institute for CPCU and the Institute for Applied Ethics in Insurance.

PJR Industries buys
Southside Precast firm
PJR Industries Inc. has purchased Southside Precast Products Inc. from Mark and Diane Catania for an undisclosed price.
The 73-year-old firm was purchased by the Catanias in 1993 and is considered one of the top architectural precast concrete producers in New York State.
The sale was brokered by Fred Renzoni and David Strack of VR Business Brokers in Amherst.
