Edith Nicole Johnson, a former Buffalo medical secretary and physician's office manager, died Friday (Oct. 24, 1997) in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Cortland, Ohio, after a long illness. She was 35.

Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Johnson was a 1978 graduate of Emerson Vocational High School and a 1982 graduate of Erie Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in secretarial science.

From 1987 to 1995, she worked for Dr. Kenneth Gayles, a Buffalo cardiologist, as a medical secretary and office manager. She then moved to Cortland. Her hobbies included fashion and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Larry V.; her mother, Helen Borders; a brother, Henry E. Borders Jr.; and a sister, Elaine Borders.

Prayers at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Kazmierczak Funeral Home, 347 Peckham St., will precede a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Broadway and Emslie Street. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
