MAN PISTOL-WHIPPED DURING HOLD-UP

A man was pistol-whipped Friday as he and two others were robbed at gunpoint at a Sycamore Street auto repair shop, Northeast District officers reported.

The robbery occurred at about 10:20 a.m. at Bill's Auto Repair at 1217 Sycamore St., according to police reports. Two gunmen wearing black ski masks entered the business and threatened to shoot three men inside if they didn't hand over money.

One victim was hit in the head with a gun and reported the loss of $900 cash, a cellular telephone, pager, a Rolex watch and a bank card. The second victim reported the theft of $8 and the third lost a Rolex, reports state.

Police later arrested one of the alleged robbers, identified as Leamonde E. Zachery, 21, of Eggert Road. He was charged with robbery.
