Bessie M. Harmer, 92, of Applegate Manor, formerly of Roseland Avenue, died Thursday (Oct. 23, 1997) in Medina Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The former Bessie Forder moved with her family from England to Albion when she was 2. She attended Albion-area schools and lived in Albion until 1924, when she married William Fisher and moved to Medina.
Fisher died in 1959. She married Earl Harmer in 1962; he died in 1980.
She worked for many years as a radio dispatcher for the former R.N. Parsons Fuel Oil Co., retiring in 1966.
Mrs. Harmer was a member of the First Baptist Church, Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, the Rebekah Lodge of Medina and the Women of the Moose in Medina, the latter for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crafts and playing cards with her family.
Survivors include five sons, Robert Fisher of Fort Mohave, Ariz., Roy Fisher of Florence, Ore., John Fisher of Mesa, Ariz., Everett of Lockport and Earl Jr.; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, West Avenue and West Center Street. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery, Albion.
