BANK ROBBER MAY HAVE HAD KNIFE

A downtown Citibank branch was robbed Friday afternoon by a man who may have been armed with a knife, an FBI spokesman said.

The robber struck at about 2:40 p.m. at 409 Main St., according to Special Agent Paul Moskal. His demand note threatened use of a weapon; a knife later was found outside the bank, and it may have been the weapon the robber mentioned, Moskal said.

After being given an unspecified amount of cash, the robber fled south on Main Street and may have entered a vehicle, Moskal said.

Witnesses told police the robber was a black man, approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was dressed in blue clothing and and wore glasses.
