STATE TO PAY $600,000 IN FATALITY

State attorneys agreed Thursday to pay $600,000 to the family of Philip J. Taylor, a Lawtons cattle farmer who was killed in a 1994 crash involving a state Department of Transportation truck.

Taylor, 61, was killed Aug. 11, 1994, when the trailer he was pulling down Route 62 was hit from behind by the state vehicle, causing the tractor to flip on top of Taylor.
