physically, mentally and sexually -- it breaks my heart to read in the paper and see on TV that this abuse is still occurring daily. Our most precious gifts, our children, are enduring terrible things.
The arrogance and selfishness of some of these parents is sickening. To know that some parents put themselves and/or their "boyfriends" before their children, when their children are suffering, is disgusting. God bless the police officers, doctors, nurses, teachers and others who turn these people in and try to help the children.
Alcohol, drugs, selfishness and violent tempers all contribute to abuse. Just because a mother gives birth to a child does not necessarily mean she is the best one to raise that child.
The right of a child to a life safe from abuse should be a No. 1 priority. There is a difference between discipline and abuse.
